The Old Brewhouse...
Formerly the brewery and grain-store for the Malt Shovel Inn (now Malt Shovel House), The Old Brewhouse was derelict until its restoration in 1997.
Traditional craftsmanship and recovery and re-use of existing materials have transformed it into a unique and stunning holiday home.
Modern construction techniques have enabled us to preserve its traditional appearance and offer warmth and comfort not usually associated with period buildings.
The Old Brewhouse is a detached property and, from the comfort of the deck which overlooks the stream and ½ acre paddock, visitors can enjoy privacy and unspoilt views of the adjacent countryside.
The spacious ground floor features a recently installed kitchen with modern appliances including dishwasher and ceramic hob. The Dining/Hall is accessed via flagged steps from the kitchen and has French doors to the sun deck. The large Shower Room and Bedroom 2 are also on this floor. From the Hall, a spiral staircase leads to the 1st floor Lounge, Bathroom and Bedroom 1.
Because of the split level accommodation, and the spiral stairs up to the Lounge and Master Bedroom, this property is not suitable for the infirm or the very young. We therefore restrict occupancy to those with full mobility and to “children over 4 years” or “babes in arms”.
